190 West Springfield Under Agreement
Tuesday, March 27th, 2012Remember 190 West Springfield? The home we posted about just last week…well we’re happy to announce that it is now under agreement. We love to see homes like this one moving quickly. This 3-bedroom duplex in the South End was listed at a great price of $799,900 and included beautiful Victorian features with hardwood floors and moldings. Fireplaces and a well renovated kitchen with beautiful granite countertops and a large center island certainly drove the demand for this home.
Some of us here at the office were even wishing we were in the market for a new place in Boston after seeing this one. We’re also excited because we’re going to have more listings coming our way very soon and we’ll be letting you know all about them!
190 West Springfield Street
Friday, March 23rd, 2012The weather is warm, the sun is out, it’s springtime, and we have a new home on the market! Life is wonderful! This 3-bedroom duplex located in the South End is a very rare and sought after opportunity for anyone looking to buy. 2-stories of pine floors and exposed brick make for an enchanting home with a great location.
The fully renovated kitchen includes granite countertops, stainless appliances, and mahogany cabinets, a dream for anyone who enjoys cooking and baking. A large center island also makes for a wonderful centerpiece and convenient for entertaining. A beautiful brick archway then opens into a sunny living space including a decorative fireplace with 1800’s ironwork. In fact the home includes two of these gorgeous fireplaces along with Victorian moldings and that add charming accents to each room.
With two renovated baths and a jacuzzi in the guest bath and the en-suite master bath with marble and a powerful glass shower, this vintage brownstone is complete and offers the perfect balance of the modernity and classical Boston.
In-unit washer/dryer, master walk-in-closet with built-ins, and a huge basement storage area with plenty of space that fits everything.
The most incredible part of this home is the asking price at $799,900, which puts it at $500 per square foot!

Spring is in the air!
Tuesday, March 20th, 2012It’s official, it’s spring time! Today marks the first day of spring and this beautiful weather is making it clear that winter has left us (we hope!). To celebrate springtime and look forward to this wonderful weather, now is a good time to start considering your garden. Of course, having a garden in the city is not easy, but you can still make it work with a few tips and tricks.
Pretty simple and straight forward, potted plants are very standard and effective. You can always keep a few in a sunny room or a balcony and grow all sorts of things. If you happen to want tomatoes or cucumbers for salads this summer there’s no reason why you can’t get some large pots and grow your own. There’s a certain sense of accomplishment that comes with being able to grow your own salad, and it’s a lot easier to walk out onto your porch or balcony and pick a vegetable than it is to make a run to the supermarket.
Potted plants can make for beautiful decorations indoors and outdoors too. Planting some nice bulbs in a deep pot or a variety of different flowers are a beautiful way to remind yourself that it’s springtime. When those flowers are in bloom nothing is happier than those bright vibrant flowers.
Another way to change it up with flowers is to put some flower boxes out. They act as a part of the exterior of your home and they’re fairly versatile. You can change your flower boxes with the seasons or each year and really spruce up your place. They’re also fairly low maintenance for the majority of people that are constantly on the go.
Never forget that you can always clip your flowers too and use them as centerpieces or decorate any room in your home while making it all smell like spring and summer. There are plenty of ways to bring spring into your home and create your own garden space. So enjoy this beautiful weather and start planning your gardens! Take in everything spring has to offer and remember summer isn’t too far away!
Website Launch!
Thursday, March 15th, 2012We are beyond excited to announce that we have launched our new website! After several months of hard work we now have a brand new website up and running. We’ve been looking forward to this announcement for sometime now and wanted to share the great news with everyone.
We built this website as a tool for anyone looking to buy, sell, or rent a home in Boston. This should be a resource for those in an step of the process of finding or selling a home. We’ve included easy-to-use search tools on the side of almost every page on the website that allow you to narrow your search down by the type of home, the neighborhood, and/or the number of bedrooms. We’ve also included a map search that works a lot like Google Maps. Making this search easy to access keep the website simple and user friendly for everyone.
We’re also thrilled about our new luxury building page, which features each of the luxury buildings and great exterior shots of each with links to more great photos of the buildings. This feature is great, because let’s be honest you can read all you want about a home, but pictures can make all the difference. They can make or break the home. We don’t want anyone to pass up their dream home simply because they couldn’t get a visual of it, we want buyers to see their future home from every angle even before they attend a showing or open house. Being graphic heavy and providing plenty of pictures was a major priority for this website.
A resource that we’re particularly proud of are the guides we’ve developed. We’ve put together a list of tips specific to buyers, sellers, and renters. We understand the confusion and the stress that can come with finding a home, and we hope to offer as much help as possible. With some sound advice these guides can give that extra push and confidence for anyone that might be timid about the whole process.
In the end we’re happy with the website we’ve launched and we want to share it with the world. With the potential to really serve clients or anyone searching for a home in the Boston market this website is our pride and joy at the moment. So please enjoy our new website, we think you’ll like it!
Spring is Getting Closer…
Tuesday, March 6th, 2012As spring in Boston approaches, we have the treat of getting to look forward to some of the city’s most exciting attractions. Between now and May 1, we will be home to The Boston Marathon, the Red Sox Opening Day, Boston Restaurant Week and those iconic swan boats will be back in the Public Garden.
The Boston Marathon
Every April, Boston plays host of hundreds of runners and their families from all over the world as they compete (or attempt to finnish) the infamous 26.2 mile trail right into the heart of downtown Boston. Additional activities on the day (this year, April 16th), include gathering on the Commonwealth Avenue Mall to watch the runners as the enter into their final mile. It is an exciting, emotional and unforgettable experience!
Red Sox Opening Day
What a party indeed! This year, on April 13th, the Red Sox will play the first game of their season at the historic Fenway park against the Tampa Bay Rays. Every year the city of Boston comes together to make their team feel special and at home. It is important to rev them up for the new season.
Boston Restaurant Week
Get your taste buds ready to party without your pocket book having to suffer. This year, restaurant week is March 18-23 & 25-30. There are 200+ restaurants participating in and around Boston and Cambridge. You can access the directory here. This is an excellent way to try new places, or justify returning to your favorites.
The Swan Boats in the Gardens
There are few images that conjure up the feel of Boston in the springtime the way that the swan boats sitting on the pond in the public garden do. They a large part of Boston history, and while they don’t sail quickly, if you haven’t taken a ride on one… I would highly recommend it. Even if you’re a Boston native (or, perhaps especially if you’re a Boston native)– Embrase your inner tourist!
With so much to look forward to, how could you not get excited on days with sunshine like today?
Condo Wish List
Thursday, March 1st, 2012In today’s rainy and snowy weather we’re all wishing for a little bit of sunshine. While wishing for sunny weather here’s a wish list of things people would love to have in a condo.
1. Breakfast nook
Beside the fact that having a nook is just adorable and convenient, it’s also fun to decorate. The nook is the perfect place to read the paper in the morning or relax later in the day with a cup of coffee or glass of lemonade. You can put a small table and a couple chairs with some nice cushions in your nook and include matching curtains. Hang a pendant light from the ceiling and the ideal breakfast nook is complete!
2. Day bed
Day beds are great. Plain and simple. Couch by day, bed by night. We’re not saying you need to sleep on your day bed, but the option is always nice for you or a guest. They bring a real homey and cozy feel to any room. They’re not for the formal living room, but having one in a guest bedroom or even in your own bedroom will be very welcoming to any guests you may have in your condo.
3. Spacious laundry room
No one likes to do laundry, we know that, but if you’re going to do laundry you might as well make it pleasant. Having a laundry room directly in your condo is always convenient and it’s even better when you have space to move and relax. Sometimes being cramped can be a little stressful and tense when you’re already doing a task you don’t enjoy, but having the extra room to move will make the chore more enjoyable.
4. Closet space
No one will ever turn down closet space! The more closets the better. You can hide away the clutter and store seasonal clothes, decorations, and whatever else you’re not using right that second. Home owners never fail to fill up their closet space, and even if it’s not full, with time you’ll find plenty of things to keep in your closets. Walk-ins are ideal but one more closet can never hurt, no-matter what size.
5. Built-in Storage
Built-ins come with all the functionality of a closet, but they look charming while they do it! They act like large cupboards and can alter the entire look of a room. Different colors and wood finishes make built-ins blend and accent any space. Built-ins usually act great under bay windows and create a wide windowsill at the same time, perfect for displaying whatever you’d like.
